It’s wonderful to see so many textile works in such a prestigious prize. As an artist who uses basket making techniques, I was particularly chuffed to see basket makers among last year’s finalists. I have yet to take a look at all of them this year, off to do that now. Thanks for the round-up!
Ahh there was a basketer from this year that I couldn't fit in - she's aboriginal Australian and makes these beautiful black twisted baskets, Margaret Rarru Garrawurra.
