Textile Tales in DANCING
Spring is in the air. Here are textiles and fibre pieces making some joyful shapes.
An amazing piece by Elise Peroi that’s dancing around space.
A very cute piece from paper yarn by Kim Winter
By Columbian artist Alvaro Diego Gomez Campuzano
By Michelle Segre
By Dee Clements of Studio Herron who also makes amazing basket-type things
‘Adornment’ by Maria Saygua André
By Tanya Aguiñiga
By Thomas Jackson
By Abbie Miller from ‘the savored textile series...hand cut & ink jet printed tissue that I stitched onto. The stitching simultaneously binds & erodes the paper, transforming into fabric & leaving a designed remnant.’
Above and below by Tracey Deep who I’ve somehow just discovered - such incredible work.
By Renata Daina
And finally, this lovely dancing creature by Yanru Chen from her RCA graduate collection.
Thank you! Happy springing in to Spring. Say hi here and subscribe below.
I don’t know where to look first there’s so many fabulous pieces. It’s funny how putting a word to the works can change how we look at it. I totally get the pieces dancing 💃 Well done Megan, great textile tales
Thank you very much for these. That first piece by Elise Peroi is my favourite; there’s so much to look at. I’ve sung in a lot of cathedrals and churches when the music filled the physical space, it’s lovely to see it filled by textiles with so much movement in them.
